Common questions

Gutters FAQ

5-inch or 6-inch gutters?

6-inch K-style is standard for most South Florida homes — handles heavy summer downpours and works with 3x4 inch downspouts (30% more flow than 2x3). 5-inch is fine for smaller homes with simple roof lines and limited rain runoff. We size to your roof area at the inspection.

What are seamless gutters?

Aluminum coil is fed through a portable forming machine on the truck, producing one continuous gutter for each roof line. No seams = no leaks at joints (the #1 failure point of sectional gutters). The only seams are at corners and end caps, which we hand-seal with 50-year polyurethane sealant.

Do I need gutter guards?

In South Florida, yes — palm fronds, oak leaves, and pine needles fill open gutters within months. We install micro-mesh guards (best for fine debris) or hooded systems (better for whole leaves) depending on your tree cover. Adds $4-$8/foot but eliminates ladder cleanings.

How long do aluminum gutters last?

20-30 years for the gutter itself. Hidden hangers (every 24") last the same. Downspouts are similar. Gutter guards are 15-25 years depending on type. We use only 0.027-0.032 thickness aluminum (commercial grade) — not the 0.025 hardware-store stuff.

Replacing the roof? Bundle the gutters.

Saves a separate mobilization fee + we get the gutter color coordinated with your new fascia.
